So it’s about donuts. And holes… I guess??
I’m a really oldschool Vocaloid fan and can’t keep up with what’s being released nowadays (honestly can’t keep up with anything, thanks ADHD), but at least the composer Hachi is a point of stability and familiarity for me.
The brief was to make it comfy, casual, and lo-fi – jank but not necessarily grungy. If you’ve ever cosplayed in Sydney then you’ll recognise the casual backdrop straight away 😂
I don’t think I’m alone in saying this, but one of my favourite things to shoot is cosplayers that can really get into it. Not getting into character (though that’s excellent too), just getting into it and having a good time. It really shows in the expressions and body language.
If you’re a photographer, I think it’s your job to bring the same energy and preparedness to help make that happen. Great photographers, which is something I am not claiming to be, are SO good at doing that.
I didn’t go all-out with it, but today is another fisheye day and you can see it in some of the shots. I like it, BADCATBAD likes it, and that means a chance to do some fun and silly things with it. 🐟
What’s in the bag today?
Nikon D800 with 16mm f/2.8 fisheye, Sony A7.3 with 24mm f/2.8G, 1x speedlight and white umbrella
