I’m off to the Yodobashi district today for a couple of things. As this will be a bit of a photographic holiday, I’ll get another camera.
In particular I’m after a DJI Osmo Pocket 3, which is a little gimballed vlogging camera that should be nice. I’m not really a video person myself, but my wife is interested so I’m encouraged to spend the yens already.
For me the main event is shooting photos, so I’m also looking for film to maybe use here, but mostly to take home. I’ve got the Mamiya C330 with me, and she’s loaded with CineStill 400D film. It’s not my favourite, but I know the 400 ISO will be versatile enough for travel shots.
I knew that Blue Archive is popular, but Yostar has their own merch store at Akiba station, so that’s saying something. I’ll get something from there later.

Taking the train to one station away from Akiba is technically shorter, but incurs a substantial walk back to my hotel, something I’d end up doing a few times on this trip

Maybe my favourite building on the Tokyo skyline, because it’s so weird and interesting. Tokyo Mode Gakuen is… some sort of college?
The creator combo is nifty, it includes a little wireless mic and an extended battery that doubles as a handgrip. That extra length makes holding the Osmo waaaay comfier, and the mic is a must-have for any even-slightly-serious audio recording
